Notifications Off. Gloves On.

For 30 minutes, everything else can wait.

Imagine if your brain had a Do Not Disturb button.

No reminders. No emails. No “quick question.” No suddenly remembering the thing you were supposed to order three days ago.

Just 30 minutes where the only thing asking for your attention is the station in front of you.

Conveniently, boxing gloves also make it pretty difficult to answer a text.

WORK would like your attention.

Of course it would.

There is always another email, another message, another thing you could “just quickly” finish before you go. And because most of us are used to being reachable all the time, stepping away can feel harder than it should.

But the truth is, most things can survive without you for half an hour. Work will still be there. The inbox will absolutely still be there.

You can deal with it when you’re done.

DINNER would like your attention.

Naturally.

So would the grocery list, the laundry, the appointment you need to book and the thing somebody in your house forgot to tell you about until approximately seven minutes ago.

There is no shortage of things waiting to be handled. That’s kind of the point.

For 30 minutes, you don’t have to handle them. You don’t have to organize, solve, answer or remember anything. You just have to move through the circuit in front of you.

YOUR PHONE has 17 notifications.

Probably more now.

Being constantly reachable starts to feel so normal that we barely notice it. A message comes in, we answer it. An email pops up, we check it. A reminder goes off, and suddenly our attention is somewhere else.

The nice thing about the Hit is that it gives your attention somewhere specific to go.

A boxing and kickboxing workout gives your brain enough to do that there’s not much room left for mentally reorganizing tomorrow at the same time.

DO NOT DISTURB
ON

This is the part where the rest of the day gets muted for a bit.

Not because none of it matters. It does. But everything does not need to matter at the exact same time.

For 30 minutes, you can do one thing instead of fourteen.

A break doesn’t always mean doing nothing. Sometimes it just means doing one thing instead of fourteen.

That might be the underrated part of a workout like this. Your brain gets to stop jumping between a dozen different things and focus on one.

And for half an hour, that one thing happens to involve gloves.

Thirty Minutes Later…

Do Not Disturb turns off.

The emails are still there. Dinner still needs figuring out. Your phone has probably acquired several new notifications while you were gone.

Nothing magically disappeared.

But for a little while, none of it got to follow you onto the circuit. You got to hit, kick, move, focus and let the rest of the day wait its turn.

Sometimes that’s all you need.
