Are We Making Fitness More Complicated Than It Needs to Be?

FITNESS, SIMPLIFIED

Do You Really Need a Different Workout for Everything?

A good workout shouldn’t require a spreadsheet.

STRENGTH CARDIO MOBILITY

Apparently, having a fitness routine now requires a spreadsheet.

Monday is strength training. Tuesday is cardio. Wednesday is mobility, unless you’re supposed to be recovering. Thursday is another strength day, but a different muscle group. Somewhere in there, you’re meant to fit in your steps, stretching and whatever else the latest fitness advice says you’re missing.

Oh, and don’t forget to track your sleep.

There’s nothing wrong with any of those things. But at what point did getting a good workout become so complicated?

There’s a Lot of Advice Out There

Spend five minutes looking at fitness content online and you’ll find no shortage of opinions.

You need to lift weights. You need more cardio. You should work on your mobility. Train harder. Recover more. Try this exercise, but apparently stop doing that one.

The confusing part? A lot of that advice is actually pretty good.

Strength, cardio and mobility all play important roles in keeping us healthy, capable and moving well. But that doesn’t mean you need three different memberships and a perfectly organized weekly schedule to work on them.

Three Important Parts of Fitness

Let’s break it down.

Strength: Being Able to Do More

Building strength helps support muscle health, everyday movement and physical capability. Whether you’re carrying groceries, lifting something heavy or simply wanting to feel more powerful, strength matters.

Cardio: Keeping Your Engine Running

Cardiovascular exercise challenges your heart and lungs, improves endurance and helps you keep going without getting tired as quickly. Think climbing stairs, keeping up with a busy day and supporting your long-term health.

Mobility: Moving Well While You Do It

Mobility is your ability to move your joints through their available ranges of motion with control. It helps with everything from squatting and reaching to maintaining balance and performing exercises with good technique.

You don’t necessarily need a separate workout for each one.

Your Body Doesn’t Care What Your Workout Is Called

We like to organize fitness into neat categories. Strength training. Cardio. Functional fitness. Kickboxing. Mobility.

But movement doesn’t always fit into one box.

Think about throwing a powerful roundhouse kick.

You’re using your legs and core to generate force, rotating through your hips, coordinating your movements and maintaining your balance. When that kick connects with a bag, you’re also working against resistance. String a few kicks and punches together, and your heart rate starts climbing, too.

That’s muscular effort, cardiovascular conditioning, coordination and mobility all coming into play.

Different exercises emphasize different things, of course. But a thoughtfully designed workout can challenge several areas of fitness at once.

That’s Where the HIT Comes In

At 30 Minute Hit, that’s exactly what our 30-minute kickboxing circuit is designed to do.

Rather than separating strength, cardio and mobility into different workouts, the HIT brings them together through punching, kicking and continuous movement.

The bags provide resistance, the pace challenges your cardiovascular endurance, and the movements encourage mobility, balance and coordination.

And you’re not left to figure it all out on your own. There’s a trainer on the floor to guide you, help with technique and adjust the challenge to your level.

No complicated workout plan. No deciding whether today should be cardio or strength. Just 30 minutes of movement that challenges your body in more ways than one.

You show up, work through the circuit and get on with your day.

Strength. Cardio. Mobility.
One 30-minute circuit.
Simple doesn’t mean easy. And effective doesn’t have to mean complicated.
