You Don’t Have to Be Angry to Hit Things!

Important Kickboxing Clarification

You Don’t Have to Be Angry to Hit Things

Anger level required: absolutely none.

There seems to be a misunderstanding about kickboxing.

People hear punching and kicking and assume you must be working through something.

Possible Reasons to Hit Things
Bad day at work?
Relationship drama?
Someone replied-all to an email that absolutely did not require a reply-all?

Sure. Those are all perfectly acceptable reasons to hit a bag.

But (and we cannot stress this enough)

You are also allowed to be completely fine.

Anger: Optional

You do not have to storm into the studio dramatically, throw your bag in a corner and announce:

Dramatic Entrance, Optional
“I need to HIT something.”

You can.

Honestly, we’ll get your gloves.

But you can also walk in after a perfectly uneventful Tuesday because you wanted to move your body for 30 minutes.

Pre-Hit Mood Check
✓ Maybe you had a good day.
✓ Maybe nobody annoyed you.
✓ Maybe traffic was weirdly cooperative.
Congratulations. You may still punch things.

There Is No Emotional Minimum Requirement

At no point during your workout will a trainer stop you and ask whether you are sufficiently irritated to continue.

Required Before Workout
Anger questionnaire: Not required
Minimum frustration level: None
Picture your ex during the workout: Also no

You can just… like kickboxing.

Turns out, hitting bags is fun.

Learning how to throw a proper punch is fun.

Getting stronger is fun.

Realizing that kick you used to wobble through suddenly feels powerful?

Extremely fun.

Although, Since You’re Here…

If you did have a day?

Excellent news.

Your Bag’s Performance Review
Listening skills: Excellent.
Interrupts you: Never.
Says “circle back”: Absolutely not.
Schedules meetings that could have been emails: Zero.
The bag understands its role.

And for 30 minutes, yours is pretty simple too:

Punch.
Kick.
Move.
Breathe.
Keep going.

There’s something nice about having exactly one thing to do for a little while.

You Might Even Leave Happier

Not because every workout needs to be some giant emotional transformation.

Sometimes you just came in, had a really good Hit, laughed with your trainer, got sweaty, and went home.

That counts.

You don’t need a dramatic reason to take 30 minutes for yourself.

You don’t need to be trying to become an entirely new person.

And you definitely don’t need to be angry.

You just have to be willing to hit things.
We’ll teach you the rest.
Angry, Happy or Somewhere in Between
