Fitness vs. HITness!

I’m doing it. I am coining a new phrase for what it is we do at 30 Minute Hit. We are not just fitness; we are HITness!

As a dedicated Hitter of over 13 years now, I can attest firsthand how life-changing this workout is. Pre-30 Minute Hit, I really liked the gym. I enjoyed the aerobics classes, the swimming pool, the weight room, the treadmill, the yoga studio, the spin classes – you name it! But I had to incorporate all of those activities to achieve the results I was looking for: a healthy body, mind and soul. It was working, kind of, but it was time-consuming and expensive!

Enter, 30 Minute Hit!

Here are the reasons I joined 30 Minute Hit in the first place:

  • No set class times so I could make my crazy mom-life schedule work, no problem!
  • Free kids area! Gone were the days of missing my opportunity to workout because the childminding room was full, or a dirty diaper made me miss the class start time.
  • 30 Minutes…who doesn’t have 30 minutes?!
  • Affordable membership options with a trainer included!
  • EFFECTIVE! In no other of my gym experiences had I found a workout as challenging, fun, or that made me sweat and smile the way the 30 Minute Hit did (and still does)!
  • Self Defense. I LOVED learning all of the intricacies of the martial arts and self defense skills taught at 30 Minute Hit. It engaged not only my entire body and my cardiovascular system, but my mind too!

Here are the reasons I still love and diligently participate in the 30 Minute Hit circuit:

  • No set class times so I can make my crazy mom life schedule work, no problem!
  • Free kids area! Although my children are old enough to stay at home alone now, there are days when one of them needs to accompany me to the Hit so I can remain a happy mommy. It is still a luxury about the Hit that I treasure. I also love seeing all of the new mamas with their little ones in tow, as I remember so clearly what a gift that space was for myself as I navigated the early years of motherhood.
  • 30 Minutes…who doesn’t have 30 minutes?!
  • EFFECTIVE! I am coming up on 45 years old and have never been stronger, healthier, had better reflexes, better cardio, slept better, had more energy, could cope with stress so well, or been so skilled in my sport.
  • Self Defense. I still LOVE learning all of the intricacies of the martial arts and self defense skills taught at 30 Minute Hit. It still engages not only my entire body and my cardiovascular system, but my mind too! I am still learning!! No one will ever throw a perfect punch, and I love that there is always something new to strive for, or something old to improve upon.

  • I belong to the most amazing community of like-minded women.
  • I am more confident in myself than ever!
  • I have overcome fears and roadblocks that I truly believe would still be standing in my way if it had not been for the 30 Minute Hit.
  • I have discovered what health and strength and beauty truly look and feel like. Gone are the days that I believed in a number on a scale, or a photo in a magazine (yes, we still read magazines way back when I first joined the Hit!)
  • I am a shining example for my children.
  • My husband is respectfully afraid of me. (Kidding, not kidding).

    All that the 30 Minute Hit encompasses and achieves in the minds, bodies, and lives of its members certainly deserves a category all of its own. In no other fitness facility or workout medium can a woman accomplish the holistic benefits of mind, body, and spirit, at the same time as forging strong personal bonds, and building community. I have been a part of the Hit through its early days of growth, throughout the tough days of the pandemic, and now in the exciting days of new beginnings, and I will never look back.

    I like fitness. But I love HITness!
